Happy New Year! I hope you and your loved ones have had a great Holiday season, wherever you are around the world. I also wish each of you a very fruitful and prosperous 2017!
2016 was one of the three worst years of my life. I spent the first few months hiding at my parents' place, not even stepping out to sign for packages, with my face ravaged by a terrible breakout. Things began looking up from the mid-year, and I am due to start subcision for the scars from January 18.
For 2017, my goals are as follows:
Knock 5kg
Return to my regular weight of 46kg by mid-year. I turned to food for comfort when I was stuck with breakouts. Since then, I've lost 3kg and moved from 54 to 51kg; time to return to my old weight with a combination of diet and exercise.Increase daily water intake
I started drinking eight glasses of water last January. It was 1-2 glasses a day before that (yes, I know. It's a wonder I didn't die of dehydration). I now want to upgrade from from 10 glasses a day to 12 - at least.Anger management
I have a short temper, and find myself blowing a fuse more often than ever these days, especially when people act insane on the road. This year, I want to work on keeping my cool even if some git overtakes me from the wrong side, swerves madly at me, and afterwards calls me names.Reduce heart rate
Related to the above. I inherited a high heart rate from my Mum (we're talking above 100 all the time). She managed to get hers down to the 90s last year, with a lot of slow-breathing exercises. I've been trying the same; will keep at that and also:Try yoga again
I signed up for yoga three times in my life. Each time, I dozed off during classes. I just can't seem to keep my eyes open during yoga. This year, I've decided to learn on my own and see how it goes. Hopefully I can average an at-rest heart rate in the 80s by the end of 2017.Upgrade sleep to eight hours
Towards the end of 2016, I began sleeping seven hours a night, and my skin looks much better. This year, I want to move to eight hours, since I'm not getting any younger.Moisturise twice daily and stick to my 10-step skincare routine
While I'm pleased with my face-care regimen, I tend to skive off all-over moisturising more often than not, and end up with reptilian skin on my legs every now and then. After such a wake-up call, I exfoliate and moisturise diligently for another few days before going off-track all over again. This year, I want to stick to body-moisturising properly.Keep my desk clean
My Mum always tells me that you can EAT off the surface of my bathroom and not fall ill, but my desk can hardly be seen for all the paperwork and other clutter. I have decluttered thoroughly in December. This year, I don't want to have to spend even one day tidying my desk.Blog at LEAST 3x a week
Ideally, four or five posts a week. The thing is, it is easy to let my schedule get better of my plans. I've got to keep fighting it and plan ahead.I also want to do two Instagram posts a day, continue with round-the-year giveaways, and get back to videos - hopefully after my scar treatment.
I won't talk about increasing traffic, or gaining more followers - I had all these grandiose goals for 2016 and did not meet a single one of them, so maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised if I don't expect anything!
