YesStyle Top 10 Korean Beauty Products 2016: Review, FOTD

Korean and Japanese Beauty retailer YesStyle has put together their curation of the Top 10 Must-Try Korean Beauty products for 2016, featuring the bestselling products on their website. I am a regular @YesStyle customer and have reviewed one of their beauty sample boxes here.

MacQueen Cosmetics Creamy Lip Tint in Light Pink

The packaging reminds me of Perricone MD's makeup. This dries creamy-matte and has very good staying power, fading only during a greasy meal. Pigmentation is 100%. This is a very pretty purpley pink - on the paler end of my comfort zone, but I can make do with a lip liner. I have done an FOTD wearing this colour in my previous post here. Tosowoong Blackhead Nose Pack of eight

Tosowoong is a Korean skincare brand I love - they have great anti-acne products. I like using these nose strips on weekends, whether they actually work or not. Will be keeping these for weekend pampering sessions.

Berrisom Oops Tint Cheek Cushion

This peach liquid-cream blush dispenses the same way Too Faced Melted lipsticks do - from the tube through a cushion/sponge applicator to disperse the product. This works better for me than cream/liquid blushes where you have to apply with a brush, because the "cushion" blends out the product better. FOTD with this soon. Swatches further below.

Beauty People 10 Seconds Auto Pencil Eyeliner

Comes with a sharpener at the other end. I got the shade Diamond Brown, which is a very deep brown with microshimmer. It comes out nicely, creamy enough, and does not smudge on my oily lids - win. It stays on decently all day. I know I will be reaching for this quite a lot in the near future.

Etude House Collagen Eye Patch

I have used these before - they are great for a boost of hydration and comfort for dry under-eye areas, and also brighten the skin a bit. Korean brands own the sheet mask and hydrating patch markets, and this one is a prime example of what makes them so good.

Tony Moly I'm Real Mask Sheet 

I received the Lemon mask, for brightening. I have tried the Rice mask from this range before, and it was one of the best sheet masks I have ever used. I expect the Lemon mask to be equally good. Will try it out over the weekend.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

This is my favourite product in this box, and it was quite a surprise. You know I love overnight sleeping masks for the face - this is a sleeping mask for the lips! It is as smooth and creamy as a body butter, but definitely not greasy. Nor does it leave awful patches on the pillows. And, believe me, in one use, I have lost all remnants of flaky skin, and my lipstick has never looked this smooth. Will be using this two or three times a week, and WILL be repurchasing this forever.

Berrisom Oops My Lip Tint

A fun orange lip tint that will look good through the Summer. This leaves a nice stain that lasts all day, and you can build the colour to blood orange. This deserves its own post - stay tuned for a review.

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream

Korean BB creams have a LOT more coverage than mainstream brands. This is no exception. You get as much coverage as you do from a regular matte-finish foundation. There are, however, only four shade options available. I wish I had got Honey Beige, which is the deepest, but I got Light Beige. I mix this with a little bronzer to get it down to my shade. Etude House Color My Brow

Since I have inherited eyebrows that refuse to be even remotely arched (THANKS, DAD!), I love the way Koreans do their brows - unarched, but thick and natural. This is actually a dupe for Benefit Gimme Brow. The shade isn't jet black, just like Benefit, but jet black would just be overkill on my already black and thick brows. A nice, affordable option.

Verdict and where and how to buy YesStyle Top 10 Korean Beauty selection

With 10 full-sized products in here, of which six products are makeup, what's not to LOVE about this selection? I particularly love that there are well-known brands such as Etude House, Tony Moly and Laneige in here. My favourite products are the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, which all of us NEED in our lives, and the Berrisom Oops My Lip Tint.
There is everything you will need for a full-face makeup look. I also love the skincare selection of sheet and patch masks for the eyes, nose, lips and whole face!
If I had to nitpick, it would be the lack of snail-based skincare. I would have loved to see something like Mizon Snail Intensive Repair Ampoule, or Benton Snail Bee Essence - snail mucin is Korean skincare's USP. But that's just me being whingy.
