Jouer Long-Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipsticks Review, Swatches: Cassis, Lychee, Petale de Rose

Jouer Long-Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipsticks were a March 2016 launch, and I was excited enough by the shades to treat myself to three of them for my birthday in April. There are 16 shades available in the range, including metallics, mattes, reds, oranges, subtle neutrals, pinks and mauves. Best of all, these lipsticks smell delicious, like tropical fruits. The fragrance is mild and pleasant, and unlike that of any other lipstick I've seen before.

Most liquid lipsticks come in see-through tubes and this one is no exception. I love that this is not double-ended with a gloss on one side - a clear indicator that the colour on the other end is drying! The packaging is sturdy and does the job well, and the doe-foot applicator poses no problems. The external box is just a smidgen too snug.

I tried three shades - Petale de Rose, Lychee, and Cassis. Neutral peachy-pink, soft pink, and purpley mauve, respectively. I doubt I'll stray from such shades anytime soon.

These are among the least drying liquid lipsticks out there - and you know I am a liquid lipstick junkie. The formula is very lightweight and these keep going on me through the day. Being so lightweight, they dry very fast, so you might want to work quickly while applying these lipsticks. They do not survive greasy pizzas unscathed, but nor does anything on the planet, my waistline included.

I'll be very honest here. I love, LOVE the formula of Cassis and Petale de Rose. Lychee - not as much. It is a good liquid lipstick, but more like Max Factor Lipfinity than, say, Chanel Rouge Double Intensite, if you get my drift. Lychee applied slightly patchier than the other two. Had I tried Lychee alone, I would still have loved it, but I love the other two even more, especially Cassis.
Cassis and Petale de Rose, on the other hand, glide on nicely, feel like second skin, and give full opacity.

Swatches on bare skin, natural light. Cassis, Petale de Rose and Lychee. You can see how the latter is just a tad less even than the first two.

Cassis, obviously my favourite. No liner used. This was after a while, which is why it looks drier than it feels. Now, when I usually wear matte liquid lipsticks, I am loth to take super-close-ups, because of how flaky and broken my lips appear in the photos. This, however, is different, and what you see is probably the closest lip-shot by me till date.

Petale de Rose did as well as Cassis, but Lychee went on patchy, and I had to apply a bit of lip balm on top to even out the colour.

Verdict and where to buy Jouer Long-Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipsticks

Whether you are a liquid lipstick fan like me, or you want a liquid lipstick that does not suck out every ounce of moisture within a 5cm radius of your lips, Jouer Long-Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipstick offers lightweight texture with great colour payoff, in a wide range of shades. Not to mention the DELICIOUS tropical fruit smell.
I have been loving these shades, especially Cassis and Petale de Rose. Lychee is on the paler side of my spectrum. I want to try the recently launched Orchid next - apparently it is suitable for all skin tones. I will also be getting Framboise, which was out of stock when I made my haul.
These cause - hold your breath - just $18 for a decent 6ml. That's £14 for those in the UK. A great deal. You can buy them from Nordstrom here or Beauty.com here (is the latter really closing?). Or if you require world shipping and live outside of the USA, buy from here.
