I had high expectations from the April '16 edition of LookFantastic. For starters, the theme was #LFBlooms - to celebrate Earth Month. For another, they said everything inside was a natural, organic and eco-friendly product. Naturally (pun unintended), I expected pampering, lush skincare from Pai, Antonia Burrell, Living Nature, Burt's Bees, Jurlique, Sukin, Trilogy, Nuxe and other botanical-centric brands sold on LookFantastic.

The box itself is GORGEOUS and Spring-y this month. I am going to hang on to it to store keepsakes. And, there is a copy of Elle Magazine as a bonus. Always nice to be sent a glossy to flip through.
Inside, the products this month:
- Rituals Miracle Hand Scrub
- Bloom and Blossom Bath and Shower Gel
- Elemis British Botanical Hand and Nail Butter
- Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask
- Balance Me Super Toning Body Polish
- Tanworx Tan Maintainer
- MyVitamins supplements
Rituals Miracle Hand Scrub
I got a Rituals hand cream in the LF Advent Calendar and love it. There's also a shower gel somewhere in my beauty mess. This scrub contains ginseng, gingko bilboa and nourishing essential oils. I only do home manicures and pedicures these days so this will come in handy (WHAT's with all the puns today).Bloom and Blossom Bath and Shower Gel
Smells of cucumber. I adore the idea of smelling cucumbers in the shower. Molton Brown will always be my HG but this would be great for travel.Elemis British Botanical Hand and Nail Butter
I love everything from Elemis. This contains chamomile and lavender oils, geranium and palmarosa and shea butter. It is supposed to calm and elevate your mood, in addition to hydrating your hands. I am always running out of hand creams, so these are good to have.Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask
Argan, avocado, rosehip and sweet almond oils, and Vitamins A, B5, D and E made this organic hair mask stand out. No 'cones, parabens, phthalates or fragrance. Will try over the next couple of days.Balance Me Super Toning Body Polish
I have given up physical exfoliants for the face but my dry body can use its scrubs. This contains blackberry leaf extract and walnut. Put aside for weekend pampering session.Tanworx Tan Maintainer
Exactly WHY are we getting more fake tan from Tanworks? They have sent out THREE tubes in the last few months. Don't get me wrong. I USE fake tan. I especially like Elemental Herbology and Sally Hansen. But I have enough fake tan for a lifetime. I struggle to give the extra tubes away, thanks to people's "I-wanna-be-lightskinned" mindset, and I get weird looks for using fake tan myself.MyVitamins supplements
This is an extra, not listed in the magazine. Usually, we only get six products. LookFantastic has sent these MyVitamin supplements before this. Fact is, I don't like getting supplements in beauty boxes. My derm has put me on a large daily dose of Vitamin C pills to help my face following an infection, so these will be used. But can we have no more supplements in future beauty boxes, please?Verdict
Putting together a natural skincare box does not have to be rocket science. A botanical facial oil, such as Sukin Rosehip. A mild cleanser, such as Ren Clearcalm. A face spritz, such as Pai Bioaffinity Tonic or Jurlique Rosewater (both sent in the LookFantastic Advent Calendar). A balancing cream or moisturising lotion - maybe Trilogy. And a bath and body product and a hand/foot/hair product. End of.Instead, we get two repetitions from recent months, a fake tan, Vitamin supplements and two scrubs (one for the hands). The saving graces were the hand cream, the shower gel and the condish. I did not think they would send makeup in a natural beauty box. But what I did not expect was the repetition of two products. The inclusion of fake tan and Vitamin supplements.
There are so many natural and organic brands sold on LookFantastic. Why not send their products instead? Award-winning British brand Pai! The iconic French Nuxe. Affordable Burt's Bees. Jurlique.
Worth the £15? Maybe. I am talking about comparisons with previous months, not value for money. This is their worst offering of 2016 so far. I loved the recent previous boxes. Product repetition is not a good way to go.

I really hope the May box is sane. I'll settle for sanity.
