Do you apply foundation on the back of your hand before dipping in your favourite brush or Beautyblender? Or, do you mix your foundation - such as the Custom Cover Drops - with something else to customise coverage or shade? Or do you mix cream blushes or lip pigments or eyeshadows? If so, then this is a must-have.
I have lost count of the number of times I saw faint foundation marks on my left hand, when I was at the steering wheel, or worse, much later. The morning rush can often mean we forget to wipe the fiddly things.
Enter the Paw Palette. It is one of those little things that matter much. The hygienic way to mix and apply your makeup, be it foundation, lip tars, eyeshadow or concealer. With no wastage.

Designed by makeup artist Crystal Hamilton, the sturdy Plexiglas palettes are aimed at protecting your skin and at providing a hygienic mixing base. They come in a variety of seriously adorable designs, from girlie faces and kittens to lips and glittery hearts. I should have picked a glitter pattern but brain-melt set in, so I picked a basic red bow - which, despite being a "Baby Paw Palette", is reasonably sized and covers the length of an average knuckle and the breadth of three.
On the other side, there is a ring, which you can adjust for size. Slip it on your finger and your palette is ready for mixing.
Verdict and where to buy
My Paw Palette is now an indispensable part of my makeup routine and I reach for it every single day. I want one more for travel, definitely. I may go in for another design next time, but prefer ring-based palettes as they are more convenient. I also want a couple of the glittery ones as they are stunning. They even have MERMAID TEAL GLITTER!Even if you have been using the back of your hand and think this is a big waste, you will change your mind once you try these out and find out how convenient they are - I know I did!
You can buy the Paw Palettes here, and on Beautylish. Prices begin at $12 and depend on the size. Worldwide shipping is available.
