If Kiko Milano is selling near you, spending an hour or more browsing their products is the perfect treat for yourself! I discovered this brand in Rome this July, and am obsessed with their products, especially the eyeshadows and the lipsticks. Super pigmentation, little fallout, great wearing time. Now you know everything and don't even have to scroll down.
Unless you want to see more photos, swatches and an eye makeup look and read more praise.
Scroll down for the review and swatches of the Kiko Milano Color Fever Baked Eyeshadow Palette 101 - Coral Burgundy - and an eye makeup look I did with the shades.
For the better part of this year, rosy, lilac, burgundy and maroon-ish shades have been my choice for eye makeup. Something to do with the marsala trend? Which is why I picked this palette from the Kiko store.
The black plastic packaging is minimalist and sturdy. The shades themselves do not have individual names but the palette is called Coral Burgundy. Should have been Rose Burgundy, or Pink Burgundy, IMO. The medium shade is pinker than coral. All four shades go beautifully with each other.
No creasing; all-day wear. These are baked, so I certainly expected poorer performance. They can be used wet or dry. They do not feel dry despite being baked.
It is one of those lethargic days - everyone has them, I'm sure - so I am not going to talk about pigmentation. Instead, take a look at the swatches!
In direct sunlight; cleansed skin, no primer. The reason two areas swatches are looking a tad flaky: I had been swatching, cleaning, swatching, cleaning and so on a gazillion times that morning and my forearm looked parboiled at the end. Think I got some eight palettes and a dozen lippies out of the way.
Indoors, artificial light with flash, using two of the shades and a different matte highlighter:
Verdict
These eyeshadows are everything! This is now my favourite baked palette. I could use up a whole paragraph praising the formula. I only wish they had a larger palette with a gazillion shades instead of quads, because I like larger palettes.I also wish I had bought a khaki quad they had but wisdom always comes late.Kiko has a host of beyond-brilliant products, including matte lipsticks that have replaced Chanel Rouge Double Intensite in my life, foundation, eyeliner and compact powder. I regret not buying EVERYTHING I saw.
Italian brands are fabulous in terms of quality. I discovered two more brands - Wycon and Collistar - which I will show you in due course.
I paid 13.90 euros for this quad, which is a great price for shadows of such good quality. And the pans are larger than those you see in the average palette, so you get more shadow for your buck.
Kikocosmetics.com sells online; however, they do not ship to all countries. The homepage has the full list of countries where they ship, so if yours is on the list, count yourself lucky.
If you have the opportunity to buy Kiko where you live, either in-store or online, GO BUY! Not just this, but also their lipsticks, eyeliners and foundations. You will not regret it.
