Bite Beauty 5 Night Fix For Lips review

For soft, smooth and flawless lips in five nights.

Bite Beauty 5 Night Fix For Lips review

I cope with stress by chewing and pulling at my lips, peeling off my nails and twirling my bangs until they form a knot that needs chopping off. Not very sensible or healthy habits. To rub salt into my chapped lips, I spend all day in an air-conditioned environment, which dries my skin further. So my lips end up perpetually flaky, tender and dry.
I have been reading great things about the Bite Beauty 5 Night Fix For Lips for a while now. This set contains two products - the Agave lip mask and the Whipped Cherry lip scrub stick. It promises chap-free lips in five nights of treatment.

Read on for my review of the Bite Beauty 5 Night Fix For Lips, which contains the Agave Lip Mask and the Whipped Cherry Scrub.

These come in a glass jar, which reminds me of those jars used for tablets and powders by dispensaries in the 1950s (I'm not that old; I collect antiques and talk a LOT to my Gramps). It even has measurements marked!

Inside, there is a tube of the agave lip mask and a bullet of the whipped cherry scrub. Both products are "food grade"; you can lick them off without worrying about tummy aches or poisoning. Neither of them tastes or smells unpleasant.

I expected the Agave lip mask to be the star of this set and thought the Whipped Cherry Scrub would be another version of The Body Shop's lip scrub; greasy, chunky grit that gets all over my face without actually scrubbing the lips, and generally foul. I certainly did not expect to like it as much as my favourite Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub, reviewed here. I was wrong - I love the Bite Beauty scrub more! For starters, it is a lot more convenient and I don't have to dip my fingers into a pot. For another, it is less gritty than the Lush scrubs but more effective because you don't have to rub around much. It contains castor oil and fruit extracts. Think of a lip balm with tiny bumps on the surface. That is how this scrub feels.

The Agave Lip Mask contains organic agave, vanilla, jojoba oil, rosehip oil and resveratrol (the wine stuff). You first apply the Whipped Cherry Scrub, smooth out your lips and then apply the lip mask before crashing - no need to rinse out. The mask has a slight vanilla fragrance and is very, very thick. It has a mild yellow tint (see below), which does not show up on the lips. Since it feels greasy, I keep smacking my lips, despite which the product stays on. I love that it doesn't slip off and get all over the face. I am amazed by how much better my lips feel in the morning once I leave this on overnight.

Verdict

These two now constitute my HG lip treatment. I have to buy a lifetime supply of the Whipped Cherry lip scrub. I will also repurchase the Agave Lip Mask, but it comes in tinted versions, so I would rather buy "Smashed" or "Champagne" next time. It gives me hydrated and soft lips overnight.
Together, these two products have made a world of difference to my much-maligned and much-mistreated lips, and all the flakes on my lips have healed nicely, though there are two long-term wounds which need more love. Best of all, the lip mask has reduced the need to reapply lip balm a gazillion times through the day. Now if only someone released a product that would prevent me from lip-abuse when stressed.
