My skin care routine fell apart a bit in December 2014, what with the holidays and Gramps not being well and everything. I managed a sheet mask once a week, but there was no regular moisturising or exfoliating. That's probably why I have fewer empties to show than usual.
New Year's Resolution: Stick to a strict skin care regimen, with a face serum and all-over moisturising two times a day, and sunscreen before stepping out in the daytime. Exfoliation once or two times a week, and a face mask once a week. At least seven hours' sleep every 24 hours, and erm... more than three glasses of water each day. Let's see if I can keep this up at least until April.
Check out the beauty products I emptied in December 2014 and my quick thoughts about each.
Nivea Soft Light Moisturiser
When you moisturise all over two times a day, you want a good moisturiser that will not break the bank. This was excellent for the dry spell we've been having. It is paraben-free and there is a generous 300ml. Not a very pleasant fragrance, though.Repurchase? Yes, I can live with the smell.
Beautiful A.M. Moisturiser and P.M. Revitaliser
This 100% natural set, reviewed here, was great for Winter face care. I love that they personalised the packaging with my name, so I'm keeping the bottles!Repurchase? Once I make a dent in my facial serum stash. It is great to have bottles with my name on it in the vanity.
DermaHouse Foot and Heel Care cream
I am not a fan of this foot cream - it made my bedsheets greasy when I applied the cream overnight, and I hope the marks come off. Also, my feet felt really warm at night and had to come out from beneath the covers, and I know for a fact that I don't have hormonal or Rh factor issues.Repurchase? Nope!
Facial sheet masks:
- Etude House Aloe Moistfull Mask
- Etude House Pomegranate Mask
- Missha Super Berry Fruits Sheet Mask
- Kangskin Beauty Aqua Soothing Mask
- Memebox Intensive Moisturising Hydrogel Meme Mask
Hand care:
Kamill Hand and Nagel Creme
My dry hands loved this cream, but it contains parabens.Repurchase? No.
Shib Jang Cen Chin Hi Heang Hand Cream
The name reminds me of the time I wrote the word "uvulopalatopharyngoplasty" in some copy and my boss returned it with the word "ugh" blue-pencilled in the margin. This was from the Oriental Medicine Memebox and contained ginseng extracts and olive oil. It did a good job on my dry fingers.Repurchase? No, have a dozen or so hand creams to get through.
Summary
Last month was a tad meh as far as beauty discoveries were concerned. Maybe it was because of all the Holiday shopping and excitement? Hopefully things will look up from January. I already have a great moisturiser I've nearly used up. Stay tuned for this month's empties post! What beauty products did you use up last month? Found any you LOVED? Tell me in the comments below.
