Pinkaholic Memebox unboxing

Pink is not my favourite colour. I prefer deep and/or sombre shades for clothing and decor, such as dark blue, violet, brown, beige and black - except for lipstick. I just love dusty pink, mauve and rose lipsticks and keep buying more in the same shades. Recently, I have begun loving rose and rose gold eyeshadows as well, and mauve-pink nail polish. So when Memebox released a Pinkaholic beauty box, I signed up, expecting a bunch of pink nail polishes, eyeshadows and lipsticks, and maybe a blush or two. A makeup-heavy box. I certainly did not expect a skincare-centric box!

Six full-sized products, which seems to be the norm for most Memeboxes now. A quick look at each product.

Insobeau Perfect Deep Clean One-Step Cleansing Water 200ml

This is the only product in this box that I used - I ran out of the rather awful Clarins One-Step Facial Cleanser and needed something to get my makeup off very urgently, so I reached for this. It is definitely not as effective as the Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover and I do struggle with waterproof mascara and long-stay lip colours. 

Secret Key Color Recipe The Pink Cream 55g

This is an anti-ageing cream. Apparently it contains pink capsules that pop as you apply the cream on your face. I certainly did not expect this in the Pinkaholic box! I have anti-ageing cream saturation and this goes into my sell or swap box. 

Awesome Glow Glow Balm 45g

This is a moisturising balm which can be used on the face, lips and hands and as a highlighter. It gives a very subtle glow to the skin. Don't get me wrong, but this was definitely not what I expected from this box. 

Style Y Glossy Pit Crayon Lipstick 01 Strawberry

A lip crayon that is a couple of shades lighter than my beloved dusty rose, this can be used on the cheeks as well as the mouth. I prefer long-staying proper lipsticks to lip crayons - unless the crayon itself is a long-wearing, highly pigmented stain like the Lorac Pro Mattes. 

Shara Shara Aurora Liquid Highlighter 01 Pink.

This highlighter and the lip crayon were the only two products I actually expected in this box. I love my Benefit Watt's Up and a Bourjois Delice Highlighter, both of which should last me forever, since I use highlighter very sparingly. 

Style Y Color Fit Bling Bling Auto Crayon Shadow 01 Pink

A shimmery pink eyeshadow crayon. The only way this can be used on medium to deeper skintones is as a highlighter shade. 

Summary and deals

I had expected a makeup-heavy box, replete with pink lipsticks, nailpolish, eyeshadow and definitely a blush. Instead, they ended up sending out mostly skincare, with one sorry excuse of a lip crayon and a highlighter. This is one Memebox I am NOT happy with. Apart from the Cleansing Water, which I began using as I told you, I have already sold everything in this box to a friend of mine, hoping she can find a use for everything. I mean, WHO expects skincare, rather than makeup, in a box called "Pinkaholic"?? I haven't been this disappointed after the 10 Minute Memebox.
