Memebox My Mask Box 5 unboxing

The second edition of Memebox's Mask box was such a success, as you can see from my review here, that I ordered the fifth edition pronto. Why did I not get the fourth and third boxes, you ask? Because they were out before I got my second box and were sold out by the time I realised that they were going to be great boxes.
Good skincare is the best makeup you can have. And masks are such a vital part of skincare - they hydrate, mattify, treat, soothe and refresh, enliven and well, I'm out of verbs. A mask box, ideally, ought to contain a couple of face masks - one hydrating and one some kind of repair - antiageing, sun damage, the works, a sleeping mask, a couple of eye masks, a hair mask, a lip mask and maybe a hand or foot mask. That is pretty much everything. Did I get all of that here?

Pro You Pore Control Facial Mask 200g

This is a pore refining mask intended to remove blackheads and impurities from clogged pores. It  contains hyaluronic acid, vegetable collagen, aloe vera gel, green tea and chamomile extracts. You apply the mask all over the face evenly, leave it on for 20 minutes and wash it off. I plan to try this after my return from vacation. My face has enough pores to rival an orange peel, so I hope this pack does what it says!

Elizavecca Green Piggy Collagen Jella Pack 100ml

This is a gel pack for the face. It contains collagen peptides and aims to improve the elasticity of the skin. Unlike the Pore mask, you need not wash off this pack but let the skin absorb the contents. Since this is more of an anti-ageing pack, I am giving this to my Mum who actually celebrates her birthday today!

PureDerm Wrinkle Reducer Gel Patches x 6

These are six eye patches that you wear overnight to wake up to youthful skin around the eyes. Can't wait to try them out. My eyes could do with a lot of TLC, sleep and water.

Milky Dress Aqua Sleeping Pack 50ml

A sleeping mask for soothing and brightening, you apply it overnight and wake up to younger and softer skin. I have a Mizon sleeping pack in use right now, so this will have to wait.

Tosowoong Help Me Neck Patch x 2.

Think of these as sheet masks for the neck. I tried one and found it hydrating enough and fun to use over a pampering session. I wish they had sent out more of these, since you cannot moisturise and treat the neck enough!

Pure Smile Mask Sheets x 5

Sheet masks - five of them. I use up sheet masks the way I use up facial wipes, and can never have enough, so yay! But I do wish Memebox would send out a couple of new brands instead of same old, same old - we have seen products from Pure Smile, PureDerm, Hope Girl and so on ad nauseam. Given the colossal number of Korean brands out there (whose exposure to the world is Memebox's self-declared mission), can we have some variety in the form of absolutely new brands please?

Isobeau Beauty Secret Step Up Bust Mask

Oh blimey, a bre@st mask. Now I've seen everything. Oh wait, maybe they have bikini line masks. No, hang on, let's not give out any ideas, shall we? A friend tried out hers and said the mask "shrank" her by a couple of sizes. Egad! Goodness knows I am sadly lacking in the curves department already. Apart from that, the idea of applying goodness-knows-what ingredients.... Will not use.

Summary and deals

This is another great box, except for one product - the b00b mask. But since there are six other products I love, I don't really mind. Having said that, this Memebox will be known to posterity as The One With The B00b Mask, just like Global Edition 13 was known as Tampongate. Oooh, sorry Prince Charles, I meant The One With The Tampons. I'm really glad they added an eye mask set, neck masks and a sleeping pack, apart from the mandatory sheet masks and pore care mask. It would have been brilliant if they had slipped in a hand mask or a foot mask as well, but we all know customers always want more.
