Memebox Global Edition 14 beauty box review

I always preferred the Global Edition Memeboxes over other boxes until about box 12. After that, themed boxes such as Cacao, Milk, Hand and Nail Care and Foot Care boxes were so good, while the Global Edition boxes included products such as depilatory creams, tampons and smaller-sized skincare. This put me in two minds whether to buy the Global Edition bundles 17-19 or not. Then, temptation took over and I got them all.
For just $23, the Global Edition boxes contain a mix of products, more skincare than makeup. If you get the bundles, you save on postage and they used to even give points back, but now there seem to be very few Memepoints forthcoming.

Here is my review and unboxing of Memebox Global Edition 14.

Eight different sets of products there, which is more than nice for $23. A quick look at each.

Shower Mate Perfume de Whip Body Wash 50ml x 2

I got Pure White Blossom and Red Fantasy. A third choice was Romantic Pink Garden. Shower gels are always welcome; those are things you always run out of. Both these smell really nice. I love that the tubes look vintage and are Marilyn-Monroe themed. Fun! 

Beauty People Miss 100 Super Waterproog Gel Liner Auto Pencil - Glimmer Bronze

This has to be the Korean eye liner I have liked the most so far. A swipe of this along the lower lashline and I'm good for a night out. This pencil is very creamy and smooth. The colour is really pretty. This will feature in an EOTD soon. Note the cute Snow White (?) on the pencil!

Recipe by Nature Golden Time Vita Capsule Essence 40ml

This is an essence that provides deep hydration and nourishment to the skin, apart from balancing out moisture levels and evening out the skintone and texture. If it does all that without breaking me out, I will be much obliged. I particularly love the bottle design and will be using it soon.

a;t Fox Fantasy Holic Lip and Cheek Designer Pencil in Lovely Coral

This looks like a mini-crayon to me, although the product card says it is full-sized. I prefer it as a lip crayon rather than a cheek tint. Lovely Coral, the shade I got, is a really pretty colour that veers more towards pink than coral. Not my favourite lip crayon - that is Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm - but not the one I hate the most either. 

Sua Young Mineral Essence in Liquid Foundation SPF33 5g

This is supposedly the only sample-sized product in this box. Free of parabens, alcohol, talc, artificial fragrance and mineral oils, this is a foundation I could have gone for. Unfortunately, like all Korean face makeup, I got a shade that is way too pale for me.

Kocostar 4 Package Set: Ggongji Hair Pack, Face Spot Mirror Patch, 5 Finger Nail Pack and Foot Peeliing Pack

Although I love the idea of this set, which contains a hair pack, nail patches and face patches which I can use, and foot peeling packs which I will give away, I am rather mystified by the product card, which says there are 10 each of the hair packs, three each of the fingernail packs and two each of the foot peeling packs. I have not opened the packs, so I daresay each pack contains the number of masks specified in the product card. If not, I call it false advertising. They could just have said one each; I would be happy with one hair pack in this box.

Sally's Box 4 Set: Love Recipe Apple Mask, Delight Ceramide Hydrogel Mask, Delight Collagen Hydrogel Mask and Delight Panthenol Hydrogel Mask

This is a set of four sheet masks in cute packaging. Three of these are "delight" masks, which means they are made of "garden complex", which contains more than 10 herbs. The fourth mask contains apple extracts. I can never have enough sheet masks, so win!

VOV Good-Bye Black Smudge Waterproof Button Liner

Each time I say any product in a Memebox will not suit me, I get half a dozen - or more - irate comments telling me how brilliant that product is and how it was tailor-made for universal appeal, myself included. Nonetheless, I am putting myself in the firing line here. Anyone from India knows what VOV is. I nearly fell off my chair when I saw this in the box. Really??? VOV?!?!?!? That "Korean" brand which is exported from Russia to India and costs, what, a dollar each? Half a dollar, even. I remember buying a red liquid eyeliner from VOV for 50c or so. It made my eyelid itch, but I needed red for a shock effect at a party. I binned it later on. No way Jose! I am selling, swapping or binning this. Yuck! VOV! I am NOT a snob and I love my e.l.f and MUA as much as I love Estee Lauder and Too Faced (I love makeup, not the brand), but this is not a brand I would want to get in a beauty box. Plus, it has a reputation in this neck of the woods. Not a very good one, that's what.

Summary and latest boxes

For $23, this is a really nice deal and I love everything inside, except for the VOV liner, and the foundation, which will go into my next beauty box swap with a girl in Europe. Any random black eye pencil or another sheet mask, or even something from Hope Girl or Cheek Room would have done it for me instead of VOV.
