Etude House Princess 360° rotating makeup storage organiser review

I have a dedicated, if small, vanity with drawers and shelves for my makeup and skin care stash. However, a number of sample and full-sized products that need trying out or using up, or that I use in my daily routine, end up scattered on my desk, and I hate to see them lying around. Worse, I tend to misplace vital tools such as stampers, nail art pens and hair brushes. That is where tabletop cosmetics organisers come in. I have the Lori Greiner Rotating Cosmetics Organiser, which holds everything I use on a daily basis. But that is for another post.
On May 15, 2014, Etude House released a rotating cosmetics organiser of their own, which they named the Princess 360° Makeup Table Organiser. While my trusty Lori Greiner holds all my daily-use products, I still needed something for all the samples, the to-be-tested products, and things I want to finish up soon. That, combined with the sheer cuteness factor of this storage pod, made me snap it up on the spot. Purchase details are at the end of this post.

The Etude House Princess 360° Makeup Table Organiser came dismantled into flat triangular and hexagonal ABS plastic sheets or "plates" in a cute external box, with a tube of Super Glue and an instructions leaflet, and I had to assemble it myself. Normally, this would mean my rising to heights of Nebuchadnezzarean fury, and staying there as I struggle with instructions that assure me that even a child can do it, but look like Trollish to me.

In this case, however, I was able to put it together reasonably quickly - and fairly well, without major incident. Provided you do not count the three tubes of Super Glue I used up because I am a paranoid klutz, or the amount of epoxy spilled on my pajamas, fingers and the floor. Or the glue marks on the shelves.
Having consistently flunked art and craft classes, I did not do a very thorough job and the walls are not very well arranged. I should have waited for my nephew and niece to visit and got them to do it.

The base rests on this circle, which is how it rotates.

From those random sheets of plastic, a sturdy and cute cosmetics organiser holding some 200 products was built. The finished product measures 26cm x 23cm. You have five dividing walls, and separate shelf-plates, which you insert into the grooves in the walls. You adjust the height of the shelves by using different sets of grooves. The triangular shelf-plates stay put in the grooves, although I used more Super Glue just because.

Take note of the scalloping and detailing on the edges. The shelves are a bit roomier than they look in these pictures, where my angle was all wrong. This space holds a regular Tangle Teezer nicely, or two 250ml bottles and a nail polish, as you will see below.

I did not use the shelves on two of the walls, so as to store 250-300ml bottles or tubes.
This removable tray rests at the top and measures 23cm across.

It holds quite a few products and I can even put a bottle or two upside-down, when I want to get every last drop out.

The ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, if you like chemistry and unpronounceable jargon) plastic is quite thick and sturdy and does not bend. This is the same material used to make Lego bricks, kitchen organisers and even protective headgear. The shelves hold the weight without falling off. The pod rotates smoothly and is easy to clean.

I did not really arrange everything properly, but just stuffed everything that was on my desk into this organiser. The Etude House Princess 360° rotating makeup table organiser is also a great place to store all those things I am constantly misplacing, such as firm and squishy nail art stampers, nail art pens, my Tangle Teezer (seen in the picture to the right above, at the bottom shelf; badly-lit), nail buffs, files and so on.
I prefer these rotating organisers to those acrylic holders. These look nicer and are more tailor-made for my requirements. Here are more photographs from other angles. I apologise for the terrible lighting, but the grey clouds and constant rains meant that I had to photograph this indoors with flash.

Summary
I needed the adorable Etude House Princess 360° Makeup Table Organiser to clear up my desk and, as you can see, it holds a lot of things. Anyone who loves cutesy and wants somewhere to put away all those smaller samples and even a few large bottles or tubes, or to just clear their desks of clutter, will love the Etude House Princess Makeup Table Organiser. This is also a great way of storing your daily-use products. And, Etude House is a lot more easily available.
The Etude House Princess 360° Makeup Table Organiser was launched only on May 15 in pink and white - only the pink was available when I saw it. I bought mine for $28 from a Korean seller on eBay, named fluency0207, who shipped it tracked for a mere $2. That batch has long gone and has since been relisted two or three times. It is now relisted for $29.98 with worldwide registered shipping for $2.60 here by the same seller, who is helpful and easy to deal with. Do check it out - their photographs are much nicer than my poorly-lit efforts. It is also available on Amazon, but costs $2.58 more.
