If you are reading this post, that means Blogger schedule has worked; I am out of commission after having a complicated wisdom tooth extraction, but have scheduled posts and will be online only irregularly. Comments will be seen to later.
You must have seen my unboxing post of the Memebox #4, a Korean beauty box, here. That was the best skin care box I have ever received. If Memebox remains consistent, it should, along with Lip Factory - the best makeup box that ships worldwide - provide me with my beauty fix. Memebox #5 comes to a little below $29 worldwide with tracked shipping and includes 8-10 products but you can get vouchers or points and get some money off. You can subscribe to Memebox at their website. Make sure you email or use the chat box and tell them Renu of My Beauty Junction sent you for extra points for you!
Here is my unboxing and review of the Memebox #5 beauty box that ships worldwide from Korea.
Packaging of Memebox #5 beauty box
My box was a bit squashed in transit. So was a tube of lotion inside, but there was no leakage or damage, thankfully.
The box colour is the same as the last time, so I'm presuming it is a regular feature. No matter. I like the distinctive coral box.
Contents of the Memebox #5 beauty box
- Derma-B Daily Moisture Body Lotion 100ml
- Nuganic Customise Pore Control Essence 30ml
- CNP Laboratory Cleansing Perfecta 50ml
- Aromatica Tasteless Aroma Therapy Roll-on 14ml
- Lipozone Body Ampoule 5ml x 5 ampoules - the product card says 5, but I've got 7
- Sella Organic Soap 18gm
- Espoir Lip Gloss 4.4gm - You know how I feel about lip gloss. Will give this away.
- Physiogel Pouch Sample Mix
- Dear Jane Pouch Samples
- Leaders Pouch Samples
Some generous quantities there, including a few full-sized products; nothing that I can see with parabens listed. Some are listed as natural, organic or hypoallergenic. Now for a quick look at some of these.
Derma-B Daily Moisture Body Lotion 100ml
The packaging reminds me of those drugstore moisturisers. This is very welcome. Ever since I began moisturising all over, I keep running out of lotions. This will be used up.
Nuganic Customise Pore Control Essence 30ml
I need pore control since my pores are monster-size. I'll give it a go and see if it works - my Holy Grail is the Etude House Wonder Pore Corrector, so this one has to be extraordinary to beat the Etude House one. Please click on the photos to enlarge them, to read the names of the ingredients.
CNP Laboratory Cleansing Perfecta 50ml
An oil-free makeup remover gel that claims to dislodge even "stubborn waterproof makeup thoroughly". That sounds amazing, just what I have been looking for. I will definitely be trying this out and hopefully it will do what it says.Aromatica Tasteless Aroma Therapy Oil Roll-on 14ml
Beats me why you would want to call an aromatic oil "tasteless". This is supposed to help you relax and sleep. I will be trying this out over the next couple of days, and see how I'm sleeping with all the pain and oedema from tooth extraction. The ingredients are all natural.
Lipozone Body Ampoule 5ml per ampoule
The product card says there are five ampules but I got seven! You're supposed to use this after a workout and it will prevent cellulite. I don't have cellulite and weigh 104lbs for 1.63m and will be knocking off a little more over the tooth-extraction-liquid-diet. But this product is also supposed to increase the skin's firmness so I will be trying it out anyway.Pouch samples
A fancy way of saying sachets. I have a couple more posts to schedule, so I'm clubbing them together. First, the Physiogel one. This is not a Korean brand. There's a cleanser, which needs to be "de-sacheted", an intensive cream and a cream, all containing natural lipids. The Dear Jane sachets are a primer and a highlighter.
The Leaders samples are of CC Cream and UV Moist Sun Gel. I may or may not use these sachets, given how I feel about paying for sachets. There is also a 30%-off coupon. Korean readers can take advantage of that.
Bottom Line
Memebox has been consistent so far and I really like this box. The value of everything exceeds the amount I paid for it. That said, I wish they would reduce the number of sachets. Apart from that, much love! Obviously, I haven't used any of the products yet, and will review them later.
A request to readers
Memebox has now said they plan to include non-Korean cosmetics from box #5, despite saying the boxes will contain only Korean brands on their website. They have sent a L'Oreal Caresse Shine in box #5.2. I am not detracting from the L'Oreal brand here, don't get me wrong, but I don't think I would go buy a box from overseas only to find something I can find 10 minutes away - like Cetaphil in Glamabox. It is regional or local products from other places that I want. Fellow-subscriber and blogger Sample Hime has set up a petition on Change.org, asking Memebox to stick to their original statement of sending Korean products only. Could you please sign this petition here and help keep this box amazing? Thanks very much!
