From the time Feelunique sent me samples of the NUXE Multi-Purpose Dry Oil or Huile Prodigieuse in August, I have been hooked to it, purchasing the 10ml bottle in the NUXE Essentials Set and finally the 100ml bottle. As the name says, this is a multi-purpose product for the face, body and hair, though I use it as a regular overnight oiling treatment for my dry hair.
Any leave-in oil treatment usually gives me a stiff or sprained neck - always on the right side - the following day, even if I apply the oil for just an hour. This can last for a week and poses problems while driving (sprain-prone muscles inherited from aunt) and, if I dare to use an oil overnight, the stiffness can radiate from my neck all the way down my right arm. I use the Yarok Feed Your Youth serum for the scalp reviewed here, but that is for dandruff and you only need a few drops on flaky areas. I do experiment with new oils and suffer the consequences, but my dry hair does not get the much-needed deep conditioning that overnight oiling provides. My hair remained dry until the first sample from Feelunique came in.
The smaller bottles do not have a spray option, but the 100ml bottles comes with a handy pump-spray. All you have to do is spray it on the hair and brush it out, so the oil doesn't even get on the fingers. Brilliant!
The oil itself is very light and runny but is absorbed easily, leaving no shine on the skin - hence the term "dry" oil.
The oil smells of... cake mix. Of warm doughnuts. Of freshly baked scones. It is a delicious smell and not too strong. It is a secure, comforting, Gran's-cooking sort of smell, if you get my drift. I can't describe it, you'll have to try it yourself.
NUXE has a shimmery version of this oil. And they've also released a perfume based on this oil - I hope to get my paws on it soon!
I wash the oil off my hair in the morning and end up with soft hair and much less frizz than usual. I have been using the Dry Oil from September 2013 and it has made a huge difference in hydrating my hair.
You can use it as a styling serum - just the one spray for the ends will suffice before blow drying.
On the skin, it feels just like a moisturiser. It doubles up as a cuticle/hand cream, a foot lotion, and, with a few drops in the tub, as a fragrant soak.
Bottom Line
I cannot do without the NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil anymore - my hair is so used to it and is a lot less dry than it was last year.
NUXE is a French brand, and while this oil is freely available in pharmacies and Boots outlets in several countries - I picked up the 100ml from the Middle East and smaller bottles online - you can easily get it online from Feelunique and Lookfantastic, both of whom ship worldwide for free. The NUXE website also ships this, with complimentary samples, but only to select countries. The 100ml bottle costs £28 and I can tell you it is worth every penny. I will definitely keep repurchasing it!

Here is my review of the NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil.
Packaging of NUXE Multi-Purpose Dry Oil
Whether 10ml or 100ml, the NUXE dry oil comes in square glass bottles. There is also an information card with the 100ml bottle. The packaging looks more like a perfume bottle! The smaller bottles do not have a spray option, but the 100ml bottles comes with a handy pump-spray. Formula of NUXE Multi-Purpose Dry Oil
This is more of a multi-purpose serum than an oil per se, and does not feel greasy anywhere, whether on the skin or hair. 98.1% of the ingredients are of natural origin and there are no preservatives, silicones or mineral oils. There are six precious plant oils in this product - Borage, St. John's Wort, Sweet Almond, Camellia, Hazelnut and Macadamia. The oil itself is very light and runny but is absorbed easily, leaving no shine on the skin - hence the term "dry" oil.

Usage of NUXE Multi-Purpose Dry Oil
I apply the oil to my hair overnight and I do not get a stiff neck the following day - that itself is a huge win for me. When I leave it in overnight, I braid my hair - the oil does not leave grease marks on the pillows, so I don't need a towel. I also apply it to the ends alone after a shower sometimes. For my hair, which is well below my mid-back, I need six to eight sprays all over as I like good coverage for deep-conditioning. I do this treatment once a week or every 10 days. I do not apply the oil to my scalp.I wash the oil off my hair in the morning and end up with soft hair and much less frizz than usual.
