I had entered the 12 Days of Christmas sweepstakes on Glam-Express.com and was pleasantly surprised to find that I was the winner of one of the prizes! My prize arrived from the US in just 10 days and it was the Ulta Here Comes The Sun 10-piece gift set, in a very pretty yellow and grey cosmetic makeup bag. I'm already using the pouch to store my fountain pens *nerd alert*. And I haven't tried Ulta products before, so this is a great introduction to their makeup.
Here are the contents of the Ulta Here Comes The Sun 10-piece makeup set.
Three Ulta mini makeup brushes, including contour and blush brush, eyeshadow brush and one of those sponge applicators (I use these to swatch eyeshadows).
Blush: The label says "Flush Cheek", which I presume, is the shade.
Lip colour in Perfect Nude: A lovely sheer-ish neutral. My lips but better - I've swatched it for you further below.
Ulta Amped Lashes Mascara: I'm looking forward to trying this, though it will have to wait for a while - I now have seven tubes of mascara, of which four are unopened and sealed. So I need to use up three by April - not going to happen. Remind me not to buy any mascara for the next two years, by when the sealed ones may expire.
Lipgloss in Flirtini: Not much of a gloss person, so this may go to my giveaway box.
Ulta Ultimate Clean Foaming Face Wash (pictured to the right): I've been using this for two days with the Foreo Luna and the Konjac sponge and I really like how gentle it is - I was using the Clarins Foaming Cleanser from My Envy Box before that and it has broken me out all over again (I was recovering from Visionnaire and Dream Tone). Remind me not to indulge in expensive skin care until my acne-years are safely past. I would have sent the Ulta cleanser to my travel bag, but right now my acne needs some TLC, so it's being used up.
Ulta Nail Lacquer in Oh: This is a golden orange shade which would make for some great layering. I'm liking the non-streakiness, though it is sheer.
The bag is the tenth piece, and there is a 30% off coupon.
Here's the swatch of the lip colour (to the left) and the blush for you (natural light). Pretty, everyday shades, both of them.
