Too Faced Cosmetics Liquif-Eye shadow collection swatches, review and photos

With two days to go for my first blogoversary, I thought I'd have a dig around my stash and bring out something nostalgic.
The Too Faced Liquif-Eye Shadow Collection Palette was my first palette ever. I don't know when this palette came out, but I had bought it in 2012 because of the versatile colours. And because, with that little bottle of "liquid eyeliner transformer" to the left of the palette, you could convert any shadow into an eyeliner, and I loved coloured eyeliners long before I began wearing eyeshadow. And it worked so well, this used to be my Holy Grail eyeliner palette until the transformer liquid ran out. I still use these shades as eyeliners with an angular brush, which is how I've swatched them below.

It comes in a cute pink cardboard box with magnetic closure. The set is quite sturdy.

There's a card to tell you the shades without having to open the plastic sleeve.

And the back cover tells you what to do with the liner.

The liner transformer is a little plastic bottle.

The liner transformer liquid ran out long ago - all you do is dip the tip into the shadow and make it smudge-proof eyeliner. Too Faced still sells this, but I've found that a wet angled brush works just as well.

The shadows are decent and extremely pigmented, smooth, and apply well. But there is immense fall out - below is the uncleaned version after I merely swatched the shadows. Which is why I maintain that these are meant to be used as eyeliners and not as eyeshadows. As you can see, this palette has received quite a bit of love from me.

The shades have lovely names - though I find some shadows with the same names, possibly because they are the same finish? There are metallic and shimmery shadows here - not much by way of mattes. The swatches are wet, with an angled brush:

The pigmentation there is something else, and, as eyeliners, these perform extremely well. I especially love Steel Magnolias, Full Frontal and Fantasy Island.
I still use these shadows as liquid liners with a wet angular brush, rather than as eyeshadows themselves. Do you need the liner transformer liquid? Well, I am in favour of any innovation where makeup is concerned, even if it is a tad gimmicky and even if you can make do with a wet brush, so do give the bottle a try (sold on the Too Faced website and at Sephora).
