EOTD: Subtle smoky eye makeup look with Urban Decay N@ked 3 palette

EOTD: Subtle smoky eye makeup look with Urban Decay N@ked3 paletteI am so obsessed with the Urban Decay N@ked 3 eyeshadow palette reviewed and swatched here that I am going to do all the possible smoky eye makeup combinations in due course, beginning with the lightest shades to the deepest. That's a lot of permutations and combinations, with plenty of room for experimenting.
The beauty of the shades in the N@ked 3 palette is that they aren't the regular brown or yellow-based neutrals that I'm pretty much sick of. I mean, how many looks can you do with those, and how many of those looks will look distinct? These are subtle enough for daily wear, at the same time, not similar to the usual suspects. I've begun at the left end of the palette and will be working my way towards the right.

Here's how I achieved this subtle, everyday smoky eye makeup look with the Urban Decay N@ked 3 palette.

I've used Strange, Burnout and Darkhorse for this look.

Strange is a matte ivory-pink at the extreme left end of the palette. I used it in the inner corners.
The next shade to the left, Dust, is my least favourite shade in this palette - it has a bit of fallout, and, though pink, it is way too silvery and metallic-glittery, so I skipped it this time. Will use it for the inner corners another time.
I then applied Burnout, which is third from the left, all over the lid. This pale peachy-rose was very easy to work with. It blended easily and didn't look garish on my skintone.

I didn't use it on the crease or on the whole one-thirds and applied it with a very light hand, as I didn't want to look too smoky! All photographs are in natural light. Please ignore the pimple on my nose - I'm having a major breakout which I'll explain later.
I finished with Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara. This look was done with the Beautyblender Detailers brushes which launch at IMATS this weekend - I've reviewed them here. I had used my new Kat von D primer, which served as a concealer as well. And topped it off with the new Bourjois Erasable eyeliner reviewed here.

Next time, I want to try Nooner and Darkside, or Trick and Factory, or Limit and Liar.
This is my entry for the Smoky Eye Friday link-up hosted by the lovely Leticia of Cosmetics Aficionado. You can get the Inlinkz code here and participate as often as you like on Fridays. Can't wait for the next one!
